L98-59d is a Very Strange Planet

Our solar system has a lot of weird planets, but we have nothing like this. L98-59d is a planet with a radius 1.64 larger than Earth, but with a mass of only 1.627 times that of Earth [1]. L98-59d was thought to be a water world (entire surface covered in water) or a small gas giant. However, in 2024, the James Webb Space Telescope found that it has a dense atmosphere of sulfur and hydrogen. To keep an atmosphere like that, this planet likely has a surface of semi-molten rock that gas can bubble up through [2]. In other words, the whole planet is one big volcano.
