Pits of Night

The Moon has permanently dark craters. At the poles of the Moon, the sun is always on the horizon. The long shadows cast by the craters always cover the center as the sun goes around. The dark center of these craters can reach 26 Kelvin, which is colder than the surface of Pluto.
