I wrote a song yesterday since I wasn't in a good mood for a short bit...And the song, maybe like a good half, we can all relate to in regards to some point of our life. Sometimes we forget to respect ourselves, and that a butterfly can't see their wings, which means we sometimes forget our worth. It's not meant to bring you down or make you loathe yourself, but in a way, it's a reminder you're not alone.
If you find yourself sensitive to certain topics like self consciousness, I would recommended you skip this post and have a nice day! Other than that, enjoy what you can from the song.
Title: ugly
by: Jay
[Intro]
Close my eyes before I look in the mirror
It’s just me, but it couldn’t be any clearer
That I can’t seem to love her back
Her looks will always be under attack’
[Verse 1]
Hide my curls when I pick up the heating brush
Always look a mess since I’m always in a rush
I never get noticed like that, never with my crush
I don’t think I’m pretty, especially with blush
[Verse 2]
It’s just endless nights of scrolling
Even I don’t know where I’m going
Subliminals aren’t showing
And it all went wrong again
[Verse 3]
Here I am, just crying
When can I start to stop lying
That the girl is I and she is mine to love
I just wish to be someone’s “thinking of”
[Verse 4]
Why, why can’t she seem to love me back?
She always seems to have me to attack
What do I have she seems to lack?
If even that
Oh you, you make me feel like I’m cut in two
[Verse 5]
Remember what you do unto me is you (still)
What can’t you love about me, what’s so hard about I don’t know
Why can’t this love seem to show?
Why can’t this love seem to show?
[Verse 6]
What about me you know that I don’t?
Cuz I know you close your eyes when you see me in the mirror
I see you, darling, couldn’t get much prettier to me
Unfortunately, ugly’s all you see
So it’s all you’ll be
Pretty in Pink <3
Base for an actual artwork but it was so cute I thought I should make two versions; base and completed <3
