Through the darkest paths,

You say "best friend" like it's cheap,
My eye rolls season.

But you call me your 'cushion,'
Soft landing for spills.

Plans made then unmade,
"Next week," your eternal claim
Faithful procrastination.

Laugh lines deepen here,
Even when I catch your snore,
Friendship’s oddest tune.

Secrets and sarcasm,
You mock my third cup of coffee
Hydration betrayal!

Four seasons have danced,
Yet you still don’t know my shoe size
