The lore on Nerina!
So as i said in her layout she was named bc her parents love the ocean and live near it and she was born in water at home.

When was able to walk they let her tag along to see them explore the ocean where she loved the sea turtles TwT her fav sea animals actually

Then she found mermaid books and mermaid shows and movies and videos on youtube she became obsessed with them to, to the point her mom called her "lil mermaid" or "my lil fishy"

Years later shes in highschool (shes 16) she onky has one best friend her name is melody they stayed stuck tg side by side soon popular girls noticed Nerinas weird obsession with the sea and the animals and even mermaids constantly picking on her for it and sometimes they filled her locker with water ballons and when she opened her locker they fell out and splashed her.

This prob went on for a while.

One day the girls got the bright idea to find a book that was a summoning like thing (kinda like eyeless jack) they needed someone to do it to, so they chose the mermaid obsessed lover Nerina (the ritual was quite literally a siren spell to turn someone into one) thinking it was fake they decided to go with it

They started being nice to her then asked to have a sleepover melody warned nerina but ofc nerina didnt listen and invited them late at night when her parents were asleep they were all still awake.

The popular girld names were (Katie, Susie, Sadie) [Katie: brown hair, green eyes, curvy body, short: Susie: Blond hair, blue eyes, not as curvy taller than Katie: Sadie: Black hair, brown eyes, not rly curvy short]

They asked Nerina of they can see the ocean at night, nerina was hesitate at first bc she never went behind her fathers back to take the boat eithout his knowledge but she did anyway when they got far out she asked why they wanted to.

Sadie puts a bag over her head and they tie her up katie pulls her backpack out setting the stuff for the ritual nerina is struggling obvi shes scared they start chanting something playing a prank on her (it goes to far)

Then they shove her head in the water laughing while chanting the wordw of the ritual then they cut nerinas arm letting the blood touch the water as they said the last verse keeping her head emerged in the water.

Unknowing to them the ritual is real and was working soon nerina went limp and unmoving seeimg this they pulled her head out of the water and preformed cpr
