Calamity of Agony

Lana, the Blind Maiden of the Sea, one of the five calamities that wanders this world.

Sold into servitude in her youth, Lana knew only hardship—save for her boundless love for the sea. Yet, her affection for the waves ignited a bitter jealousy in her lord. To break her devotion and bind her focus entirely to his realm, he went and took her sight, severing her eyes from the horizons she once adored.

Driven into the dark by the lord's sin, she fled into a fateful night from the home she once served. Though blinded, an unseen event caused her to plummet into the crashing waves below, where its now became her final rest. Far in the depths below, upon a forgotten shrine resting within the deep, her lifeless body was drifted towards. There, the ancient ocean claimed her as a vessel for its calamity, reanimating her spirit and drowning the land in a tide with her presence.

Now, she wanders aimlessly across the shorelines, sightless to the physical world. She perceives reality only through the heavy weight of agony, following the silent threads of suffering, tending to those who cries in its mercy.

They know her by the Blind Maiden of the Sea for her attentiveness to the suffering.
