What is Book Week?
Book Week is a special event held at schools and libraries to celebrate books and reading. It is especially popular in countries such as Australia and the United Kingdom.
During Book Week, students often dress up as their favorite book characters and talk about books they enjoy reading. Some schools also hold reading contests, quizzes, storytelling activities, and book fairs.
For example, students may dress as:
Harry Potter characters
Fairy tale characters
Characters from comics or novels
The purpose of Book Week is to:
Encourage students to enjoy reading
Develop creativity and imagination
Share the fun of books with others
Many schools also have a costume parade where students walk around in their costumes and show their characters to everyone.

Character Day at Schools Overseas
Character Day is a fun school event that is popular in many schools in countries such as the United States, Canada, and Australia. On this day, students dress up as their favorite characters from movies, books, cartoons, video games, or history.
For example, some students wear superhero costumes, while others dress as famous characters from stories like Harry Potter or Disney movies. Teachers sometimes join the event too.
Character Day is often part of Spirit Week, a special week with different themed activities to make school more exciting and help students build friendships.
Students usually:
Wear costumes to school
Take pictures with friends
Join costume contests or parades
Share why they chose their character
This event helps students express their creativity and enjoy school life in a fun way. However, schools usually have rules to make sure costumes are safe, respectful, and appropriate for everyone.
