who stood tall in a grassy field
isolated, with nobody to turn to
but still, it smiled its way through every passing day.
it still smiled,
radiating joy--
but its petals were delicate
and it feared that,
it could not hold on much longer.
"goodbye," the sunflower whispered, still with a wide grin, this time bearing tears,
"it was lovely knowing you!"
and at last, it wilted away--
but at last, it did not give up
for, why would you ever think to do that?
when it could have still brought someone
so much joy.
