Drift

Me/Us: I/We remember the first time I/we learned how to swim, off the cold shores of an island, the water freezing and the sky above a deep gray. The water was noticably more murky than in here, with the bottom covered in tiny sea stars. I/We was/were wearing a wetsuit, those things are constricting like a thick callous second skin. I/We sincerely do not recommend putting one on simply just to swim in northern european waters.

But the ocean IS beautiful, it always has been to me/us. AN entire world underneath ours that isn't so heavily affected by gravity or the need for land, unfathomably more vast than the surface, and not even 10% mapped out. Truly, I'd/We''d argue that one should save the earth and map it out before daring to look upon the stars.
