I am tired and I made up this dumb ass story, enjoy it:
You just bought a coffee and you look inside the cup and there's this alien, and he's kind of panicked because his plan failed, and he says, "Hey, can you drink me?" And you're like, "No, why would I do that?" And the alien says, "Well... I want to take control of your body," and you're like, "No, it's my body!" And he's like, "Come on, dude, just for a little while," and you're like, "NO! And how do you expect me to swallow you? You're the size of a tennis ball!" And the alien gets all sad and starts crying, and you say, "OK, OK, but just for a little while," and you swallow him and wait... and these stupid aliens didn't research how humans work, and they fall into your stomach and die from the digestive juices, hahaha.
And the aliens believe that humanity is being slowly controlled, but in reality they are just... dying.
