Okay nobody knows about this yet but this is my comic SLUUGS I'm working on:
- Comic about slugs
It was given to me by my friend @sluugs_official when she moved to Austria
So okay anyways here's the worldbuilding I made:
- It's a world where humans don't exist but arthropods, birds, and slugs do
- They live in groups called Pods
- And yeah I guess
- The protagonist is called Rowan <3
Let's start with the Pods:
The Pods are large groups of slugs that join together for safety, food, etc.
There are 5 main Pods:
Sylvan Pod, Creek Pod, Tide Pod, Gale Pod, and Ardent Pod (wellll I mean there are other groups and affiliations but still these are the main focus of my book)
- Sylvan Pod lives in the forest;
- Creek Pod habits the creeks (also in the forest);
- Tide Pod lives in tide pools and the ocean (yes they're immune to salt and some of them have gills);
- Gale Pod lives on windswept moors;
- and Ardent Pod lives in the marsh (I know, I know, the name doesn't suit, but they were named for their spirit)
Next: Roles and Ranks
1. Disciple
- Role: The spiritual leader, chosen via challenge (you know, in a duel) or by being Captain, very rarely by the Stars (yk, the spirits) EHEHE IT WILL HAPPEN DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT
- Duties: Oversees everything, leads at the Falls (elaboration later), mhm yeah otherwise they're kinda useless...OH WAIT THE BLESSINGS (elaboration later)
2. Captain
- Role: Highest commander in a Pod, chosen by the Disciple to succeed them
- Duties: Assign patrols, settle disputes, leads during times of migration/w-r/drought etc (well maybe the Disciple should do that but the two are kinda a powercouple except they're not a real couple)
- Never challenged unless they fall (oof Trapjaw core)
3. Herbmaster & Healer
- Role: Treats illnesses, collects medicines, etc
- Difference:
Herbmasters are the main Healer of the Pod
Healers are the apprentice
4. Officer
- Role: Mid-level warriors who have more power in battle (because they are more trained). Lead squads of warriors and scouts, protect border trails, train apprentices in battle (so they’re not that high but they’re higher than warrior and stuff)
5. Scout
- Role: First to find threats, territory changes, or distant sources of nom nom (they’re kinda like travelers and guards/sentries vibe)
- Special Skills: Skills: Must be able to cling to vertical surfaces (don’t worry, everyone can…or can they?), sense vibrations in the mud
