Personality type: INFJ (heavy emphasis on the i)
I'm not as active on Magma anymore; many of my old friends have left Magma. And at its core, magma has changed a lot; it feels busier. And it's shifted more and more towards social media. I still like Magma, it just feels different, and I feel like I’ve been left behind a little bit by all this change.
I'll still be posting every once in a while. Though not as much as before, as they changed the way the feed work and now post don't work that well. low view counts :(
These days, I'm typically drawing in private jams, so you most likely won't see me around much.

Funny how you can miss talking to people you've never even seen face to face...

Sorry I haven't been posting much, I'm currently trying to learn more traditional art instead of digital.
Also trying to learn more theory and methods behind art, and that doesn't make for a pretty post XD
Speaking of which....anyone got any recommendations for learning the fundamentals of art? Specifically I'm trying to focus on form (3d shapes, basic perspective) and people, so general anatomy and portrait skills.

I hope y'all are doing well!

also, is it just me or are magma functions disappearing? you used to be able to sort live jams by activity and creation date (most recent). But I can find that anymore, is it there and I'm just not seeing it?

Hey Sorrow! You’ve mentioned that you have been doing traditional art, I’m currently doing the same since I can’t draw digital right now. I’m finally trying to use the alcohol markers that have been collecting dust for a while lol. But I would love to see some of your tradition artwork, I bet they look sick!

College has finally finished! (whoohoo, summer break!) :D
So I should be able to post more art, already posted the three pieces I did last night.

Hiatus: I'm on a semi hiatus, I won't be on public jams much (maybe every once in a while) but I'll still keep posting, probably more then before now that I have more free-time.

Hello everyone, hope you're doing well today! Just gonna post a quick update on where things are for me right now.
Why I haven't been very active on magma:
Long story short, college and mental health issues took up a lot of my time, (along with traditional art) now that school is coming to a close for the summer I hope to start drawing more! Hopefully I'll be able to sort my life out and post some more artwork then!
On that note: what kind of artwork would y'all like to see from me? Some fanart? more studies? OC/world-building concept art? (lore based artwork), etc etc! (suggestions welcome!)
Following that: would y'all like me to post more unpolished sketches/artwork? I typically only post my best pieces, but I can post here more often, or just make a alt for doodles/sketches.

Where I'm at with art:
Burnout, not sure if anyone else can relate but I've been been in a constant state of burnout ever since the first day I picked up a pencil and started drawing again. Kind of sucks, and is pretty demotivating to create art these days. Anyone have advice for overcoming burnout?

I constantly deal with art burnout. The way I get over it is to just try to doodle every day. (Preferably with a pen. That way I focus on bold lines.) After doodling for a few weeks, I usually feel like I can switch to something more challenging. I hope things get better for you!

Absolutely stunning work here by alec.aleks, really underrated artist! They deserve far more followers then me, go follow them!
Really love the way the detail is laid out in the piece. I'm not sure if it's a wip, but I love how the face is fully rendered and it loses detail as you continue down.
And don't worry, they solved the problem mentioned in the description.

anybody know why my drawing got pixelated? it wasnt like this at the start. its only the main layer, the others are still the same
