Took me 2 hours (don't judge, i fell asleep multiple times for a sec lol). Far from perfect but some nice study i guess.
I was about to close magma for today, when i saw there was a jam for drawing knights, - so i joined, even though i fell asleep for some moments and had to do some jumping jacks.
Quick Shadow/Tear Study, Time 1h 30minutes, not perfect but better than nothing i guess.

That's what 11+ hours looking like. Well, i wanted to draw some quick portrait at a freedraw but was displeased with the sizes of the brushes so i switched to my privat canvas, and well, it escalated a bit, turned to something more than a head portrait. It's not perfect but i really spend enough time on that.

Wanted to share a Close up, so you can see the skin textures i tried doing here, the veins on the hands, the brittle lips, the rings and the vibes lol.
Not perfect, but in the end it was just a little project, to see how my skills changed after 12 months, when i drew the same motive back then, when i joined Magma.com.

I need to thank Magma.com, without this website, i may wouldn't have used my graphic tablet no more. The easiness of this platform made it so nice to try new things out. I remember sitting on this drawing a whole Saturday and i was proud. Now, 12 months later i sit and wonder. My style changed a bit, my skills with my Wacom improved, i got into digital art, as an usual traditional little self-taught artist. I wanted to draw the same motive, to see what changed. Well, the skin is not longer THAT glossy and the pearls were much easier this time to draw. But especially the vision i see. There is more spirit, more determination and more trust in myself. 'Cause every artpiece is tried, is better then one, i hesitated and didn't draw, because of the fear, of doing it wrong. Still not where i want to be, still struggle a lot, still doubting myself very hard daily, but art doesn't need to be perfect. We learn over time.

Well, it's really not perfect. not highly rendered as usual but it's a fictive character and setting, so i didn't spend so much time with it. Took me still 7 hours, oops. If everything works out, i'm able to make this chibi flying around the head- trend.
Light and Vibe is almost reminding me of the Lion King Scene where they're lying under the night sky.

It took me almost a month, well 17+ hours to draw Thranduil from Lord of the Rings.
I got the idea from dragons-of-unia who asked me to draw Legolas. But i decided to try out drawing Thranduil, his father.
The armor took me wayy to long to turn out this meh, but at least i could practice to draw light hair. I was playing a lot with the colors and that's the finished artpiece now. Happy to start something new soon. :)

Today nothing worked out for me, my wips and other creative stuff i wanted to do on my free day, 'cause something felt wrong with me. So i joined this jam 1 1/2 hour ago and now feel grateful for magma, drawing with others always motivates me.<3 Quick little something with hue of blue.

and I agree, I usually draw solo but then I found out about magma and it's very eye opening to know drawing with others are honestly so much fun, we still do need our very own space sometimes but it's great to draw together as well π₯Ή

I finally finished this artpiece. I drew this face low quality and effort on my last jam in 45 minutes and thought, what if i make the rendering a bit better? Well... 8-9 Hours later this is what we got now. A better crown and stuff. First time trying to make a 'cooler' background, i don't know. Think i have to post this now, 'cause i'll never be satisfied i guess. So have fun. I don't know. Thanks for everyone who takes time reading this.<3
I appreciate you thinking the same lilac, and honestly I'm relieved to hear that some of us actually struggle with reworking or overworking our pieces that we "finished" a long time ago π₯Ή but yeah that's true overthinking is also the thief of joy and improvement 
this is how we actually truly grow as artists when we compare our old art and the new one, so we could see our past mistakes and what we did best and some would love and get inspired to see us grow too, thank you for your thoughtful words lilac <3
@{π°πππππβ βΆβΈ} Hey Eni, i totally feel your ''fear'' of double posting overworked art. But let's be honest, i think art takes time. How often did we thing ''I'm done, i finished it.'' but in the next morning we've looked at our latest artwork, seeing a lot of stuff we didn't see the day before, stuff that could simply improve the previous drawing. So i think improvement is always great. Is there really an artist outthere who wouldn't change a thing on their artwork after some time? Don't overthink it just do it. The right people will joyful compare your both versions of art and cheer at you, for improving.<3

After 6 hours of drawing i'm okay with this drawing, even though it didn't get the usual rendering treatment as some other art-pieces of me.
Rendering the sword bail thing took besides the hair the most time i guess.

I started this artwork in march but never had the motivation to finish this piece, because i was scared, i would ruin it. The last 3 days i sat there and locked in, after 9 hour i succeed to finish it, finally.
Listening to Enya while drawing this, made me feel like living in another world, was a vibe.
Wanted today to join a relaxing jam again, after a long time and drew some ''quick'' Edward Scissorhands Portrait. Not perfect but well.. 1 1/2 hours work or less, i guess?

Okay, after almost 15k strokes and over 8 hours drawing, plus some really annoying headaches i want to finish this, by posting it. Still have to learn rendering light hair and the face in the sun doesn't look like light somehow.
At first i thought, this artwork will never look anything like something i want to share, it was really wild, but even though it feels not like my usual style, i want to share this now.

Finally, after 3 days i finished this artpiece, plus i changed up some parts i didn't like (that's why the repost).
Some knight dude, as always. Inspo from a Dude from Insta, don't know his @ anymore sadly.
Drawing the hair was a wild up an down because of the lights, but it turned out okay i guess.

a little story time:
Before I got into magma there was drawshow, my 1st digital art platform during my teens, so many bittersweet memories there tbh, but mostly sweet ones, got a few friends there that I'm still close with now and I'm grateful for that, but then drawshow got terminated due to specific reasons, and I lost a lot of my art progress there but I didn't lose some of my skills gladly

so I got into ibispaint for a bit for a few years, it's ok but I didn't enjoy drawing on it very much, dunno why

and then... there's magma, which came to grow on me, I used it around 2022 to draw together with the locals tbh, I didn't really know it's like a social media for artists, so I never posted back then, and I just used magma for personal stuff

but around 2025 to this year I started going active because I got a bit curious and honestly with how traditional and self taught I am with art as well, it's such a big revelation of improvement for me using this site cuz they care a lot about us users, and with how everything seems dark and gentle to the eyes π₯Ή compared to ibispaint, that just says a lot that they put very much thought on magma, but it does need some more feature addition here and there too

That aside almost everything here is easy to use, my art has improved so greatly over the years thanks to magma 
I used to be a bit scared to use a lot of shading and adding more details but now I feel more confident and I met a lot of great artists and ppl here including you π₯Ή (sorry it's such a long comment, but I really wanna appreciate magma and y'all πΆβπ«οΈ)
About the same as you, I discovered magma a year ago ^^ 3-4 month before that i started drawing again with paper and pencil after 6 years away from it. In a year i think I've improved, just like you have :D I love your style! Its more concinstence than mine as I have too many different styles I like. you are very reccognisable and I wish you another year of Improvement and awesome art :D
