to describe this ; lem uses her strongest attack (which IS going to result in more pain on lem than mel, since it's easy dodges for mel.) if mel was to get hit by this attack, she would die. which isn't a good thing, but Lem is convinced it is a good thing. Mel dying wouldn't help Lem, and Lem dying wouldn't help Mel. They are each others balance, equal opposites that can't go far from each other.
