Spatulad, The Kid, Who Would Offer Us Stagnation.

Spatulad is among a somewhat rare caste of Thingamajig who were born older than they actually were.

In the throes of the worst aspects of sacrifice, certain families all across the world were subject to what were known as "oldbirths": infants born much older than...well, infant age.

They were born essentially as clones of people who didn't yet exist. Tons of knowledge on innocuous subjects would come pre-packaged in their brains. They were not born to learn, nor to change, for they were handed the finish line far too early.

His mother was an elusive Blithecat, a monstrous species of apex predator that ravaged the land and sea with the grace of a true force of nature.

His father was a mighty Fleenix, a skyborne species, famous for their ability to naturally regenerate and even cheat death itself when given enough time.

He was a hybrid of two beings perfect in their own rights, and as such was expected to become a being perfect in EVERY right.
As with most things in his life, this was made quite difficult by the looming presence of the prophecy.

For someone who can't even age, at least not in the traditional sense, what does it mean to "grow up"? To "fit in"? To be "more" than a "no-body"?

A reclusive cynic, Spatulad elects to find that out for himself over the course of the story.

It wasn't even his choice to go on a journey across the world in a quest to save it from eternal devastation: That was a destiny picked out for him long, long ago.
At least now he can pretend he's motivated enough to do it for his own agenda.

Spatulad is snarky and high-guarded when it comes to the world at large.

Spat has big plans, and a furious hope to change the world for the good of all Thingamajigs. But, when so much and yet so little has been chosen FOR him, he finds it hard to see any point in trying, prophecy or not.
Everything that used to be cool is either dead, dying, or far out of his reach to begin with.

He's lucky his friends love him so much. They're the real reason he fights so hard.
