i hate how mental health is treated nowadays. everyone just beats around the bush (idiom) instead of ACTUALLY addressing the problems. i talked to my teach from last year abt this and he said (paraphrasing here) that they keep it vague and not get that deep into mental health becaus they don't want families getting mad???? or smth along the lines of that idk my memory is bad. but like WHY is families getting mad yur top priority? what about the KIDS that have to DEAL with this shit on their own?????? there are kids struggling and your top priority is to save yourself????? what

also like the things they tlak abt dont even help at all. they keep talking aboutsome 'coping mechanisms' and to 'keep a positive mindset' hey so,,, you do realize that its not that fucking easy to break out of a negative mindset??? its a cycle,, yu believe bad things abt yourself and then you dont bother trying cuz 'you'll fail anyway' and then those bad things end up becoming true?? and then its just a cycle -_-

and they're always like "talk to someone you trust!!!!!!!" "talk to a trusted adult!!!!" what happens when you don't have anyone safe to talk to?? or when you're too scared to reach out????? huh?? what do yu do then?????

and they say shit like "you are loved!" "You are cared for!"

okay,, and??? well 1) sometiems a person isnt shown love?? like at all??? by the people surrounding them 2) some people think this because of their low self esteem, if thats the case,,, they'll probably not believe/deny it whenever yu say that. and 3) even if someone is cared for mayb no one does anything that makes them feel loved???? like actions speak louder than words- someone can be loved and adored but they won't realize it because no one's actions tell them that they're loved

and theres people who say stuff like "oh what if they're doing it for attention!!"

so what???? you're gonna let a potientionally struggling person just deal with their problems on their own?? just because theres like a small chance that they're just 'faking it'????
even if they are,, thats still a problem????? like i get attention seekers can b annoying and stuff but do you not realize that chances are they want attention because they dont get enough of it from their family/friends etc??? because they are neglected??
