But seriously though I got a suggestion from a friend to draw a mounring dove (aka the bird with the nostalgic call) and I really really enjoyed drawing this :)

As they are for many people, mourning doves are very nostaligc for me. Their call is so pretty and gentle, yet it really sticks out to me when listening to sounds of nature :P I hope I was able to capture that soft feeling with this little fellow

Also THANK YOU MAGMA the new brushes are so amazing ahhh and for free too thank you guys!! Seriously helps so much with backgrounds and makes drawing much less tedious! <33

Two lovely black-chinned hummingbirds! I saw one a while back on a walk, it had a lovely nest and we watched it do work to and from that nest for a while :D

In other news, hope everyone had an amazing Artfight! I could go on for so long about how grateful I am to everyone that participated and supported me, but I'll keep it short for this post! Thank you guys so much, it means the world to me and definetly made my year! I feel like I acheived so much more than I thought I could and really improved this past month :)

Speaking of you all on Magma, I'm seriously grateful to each and every one of you. Seeing your guys' art and having a community that appreciates each others art has really been amazing! When I joined magma last year I did not think I would make any friends or be lucky enough to have people that support me as much as you guys do! Seriously thank you all so much, and thank you to magma for having such an amazing platform <3

(I will be working on one more realism piece. I know I said I would expiriment- but doing Artfight has refreshed me to enjoy realism again! :D)

Hi guys I'm so sorry I haven't uploaded in 2 months! Been getting absolutely slammed by exams :(
Don't really love this piece so I didn't finish it but I decided I would just quickly do a background just to upload something, which is why the background looks very... abstract :)

I might try to go into a less demanding and more sketchy style so that it doesn't take a ton of time to finish one piece. It might take a while to experiment and find a style I like though so lmk if you guys would be interested in seeing that :)

Great tailed grackles are commonly confused for crows. And while I love crows, I think great tailed grackles hold a certain beauty and gracefulness that I always love to see.

This species is only found on Santa Cruz Island which is what makes them so special
I went to go see them a while ago and meant to draw one but only found the energy to do it today whoops lmao
