this is a vampiric oc — I tried to render the skin a bit differently than normal. (Tried to make him a lil “undead”, hence, he’s a vampire).

Also I used pretty muted colors for this, figured that bright colors didn’t suit a vampire in my style.

Also! I wasn’t familiar with drawing blonde eyelashes so I had to go study some eyes in other art styles to try to figure it out.

I had a lot of fun drawing this even though I step out of my comfort zone with the hair. Just not used to it is all!

I tried my best to make the hair fade and made a raccoon tail in the hair. I’m not full educated on the scene style, but I think it’s SO COOL!!!

also I didn’t do too much with this portrait only because I only had time to do it in one sitting </3
maybe I’ll come back to it and smooth it a bit at some point

Okay so I went to make a simplified version of their rendered portraits.

(Btw - coming up with simplified versions of your ocs makes it rlly easy to draw them over and over again without wrestling with intricate details. Plus - makes it faster for when you want to doodle them)

I color coded the simplified versions so it’s easier to tell which ones which.

Cyber grunge?? I don’t actually know the style.

I’ve been thinking about making a bunch of ocs…. I have so many ideas. This one is inspired by the barn owl, personally my favorite type of owl. However! I only have a portrait concept.

This is my new oc Keith! This portrait isn’t set in stone though. This is just a first idea. (His eyebrows are intentionally shaved off lmao)

It does look a bit off — I didn’t want to draw a neck so I hid it with her hair

How do I get my colors?:
Use pretty neutral base colors, not too neutral. As you render, work your way up to more saturated shades.

Not a lot of change since pt 1, I think the hair could’ve been… better to say the least. Not my best work.

To be brutally honest with myself, I think I shouldn’t hesitate so much on shading/highligting when it comes to rendering skin… Loved that I figured out how I could make it more colorful/vibrant though since pt1

Not my favorite work but definitely one of my favorite visions that I had, it was prettier in my head.
