When emotions fuel your art.

I was having a rough day today, (lack of sleep never helps with that) and then words were said to me while I was working on a project that got under my skin and derailed me from what I was doing. Trying to find a way to recover, I suddenly felt the urge to draw Kai from Ninjago. I put my frustrations out onto the canvas and this is what became of it. I had a blast coloring this, experimenting with different ways to color the piece while aiming to maintain contrast. I’m glad I got to draw this! It feels like a win. Had I not gotten frustrated, I never would have challenged myself to create this piece! Sometimes good things can happen within the bad.

Red Felix. Didn’t spend too much time on him as the jam was lagging so it would have been a nightmare trying to polish this drawing. I might draw more BRC characters... They’ve got some neat designs.

I drew these two on the same canvas, and I thought it would be fun to share what the drawings looked like side by side hehe.

As I’ve been playing Jet Grind Radio recently, Tab has been my main. I didn’t think he would be the character I’d play as most often. Naturally, I wanted to draw him, so here it is.

I’ve been playing JetSet err- Jet GRIND Radio on my Dreamcast lately and I’m just absolutely hooked. I’ve been soaking in inspiration like a sponge. I had to draw Mew cuz her design is so cute!

I decided to experiment with coloring on Magma once again! Boy did I have fun tinkering with this drawing. Genuinely all I had in mind was “I want to use the color orange” hehe. I had to trust the process for this one to get past the ugly stage but it was worth the effort!

It was supposed to be a quick doodle. -_- Oh well. Totally worth it. Had a blast with the coloring and rendering. I’ve really been trying to tinker with new ways to color on Magma and I’m really pleased with how it’s going. I decided to draw The Ultimate Spider-Man’s suit. There’s not too much of a difference other than the sleeves and I think the spider logo part? I was going off memory as I drew him a few months ago when I briefly watched the series. I remember laughing when I first started watching it because I thought “hmm, the writing style in this show seems familiar…” sees “Man of Action” in the credits “Yup. That explains it.”

I loved drawing Aria Blaze (from Rainbow Rocks) growing up. She had one of my favorite designs in the movie! It was so much fun revisiting drawing this character all of these years later.

@meliheartzminty ,, AveryTheMayo You ask for a drawing of Bark, I give you a drawing of Bark.

I love drawing Johnny from Sonic Rush Adventure. I was in the zone for this drawing. Don’t you just love it when your hand cooperates, the stars align, and you make a piece you’re actually happy with?

Couldn’t think of a character to draw, so I asked the host of the jam for a suggestion, and I got Dareth! He’s such a fun personality to draw.

Quick doodle of Super Sonic. Really wanted to exaggerate the lighting on him this time around.

Fugi-Dove waaaaaaa. His cry fills the night & all that jazz.

Free draw doodle.

Drew in a jam challenging me to draw in a style I haven’t drawn before. It was hard to find one, I shop art styles like they’re 80% off. I mainly just fought the urge to use curves, had to keep everything sharp and pointy.

Quick doodle of Tola at an art jam. Her character is positively adorable!

A collab I did with @Mox<3 . @Mox<3 drew Harumi, I drew Lloyd, and together we added a background. I gave the background a foundation and @Mox<3 polished the background to its wonderful final product! Thanks for hosting the jam and drawing with me @Mox<3 ! It was so much fun! Your art is FIYAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!

I asked for a suggestion of what Ninjago character I should draw next, and I got Acronix! Love this dude’s design so much. I don’t draw him enough. Also a super fun character to play in the Ninjago movie video game cuz he’s got super speed hehe. The moment I learned that I said “congratulations Acronix, you’re my new main. Let’s speed-run this thing.”

Drew Morro at a Ninjago themed art jam. Just felt like doodling the grumpy boyo.

I wanted to draw Harumi and went a little wild with the coloring. (Not that that’s anything new heheh.)
