Freezing Bazelgeuse - The Glacial Empress

Deep in the Tundra, where white silence blows,
A shadow descends o’er the waist-heavy snows.
No roar of a furnace, no cinder-lit sky,
Just the glint of the stars in a cold monarch's eye.

She drops her glass scales like a crystalline rain,
To shatter the earth and to sharpen the pain.
They do not ignite with a flicker of red,
But burst into flash-frost to leave hunters dead.

An explosion of mist, a breath of white death,
That seizes the lungs and steals every breath.
To flee is a choice, but to stay is a will,
In a kingdom of ice where the air has turned still.

So ready your blades, and keep your wits keen,
Lest you fall to the shroud of the Winter-Born Queen.
For to claim such a crown is a perilous thing,
When the frost-shattered air is the song that she sings.
