(warning: THIS IS LONG.)

I LOVE the blue being so saturated compared to everything else. it reminds me of a movie poster. actually this entire thing reminds me of a movie poster. maybe it's the lighting or the background or the pose idk.

he looks oddly familiar. like I feel like I have seen that face before and I have no idea WHERE.

maybe I'm going nuts but the face is giving me the same vibe as the Mona Lisa. he might be looking at you with a faint, polite smile, maybe into the distance in thought, maybe intently listening to his commander giving him praise. or maybe he's not smiling at all and he's thinking about this whole war and how it might end, when it might end, *if* it will end, and what the answers to all those questions means for him. or maybe he's just thinking about Virginia, how different it is from anywhere northern, both geographically and socially.

but, as Guy Montag puts it, this is my "other self, the subconscious idiot that [runs] babbling at times" talking. back to sense.

WHAT THE HECK HIS UNIFORM LOOKS SO GOOD!! from the little effort I put into it in my rectangle (mostly because I was tired of drawing it </3) you interpreted it so well and came up with something pretty accurate!!

I never thought to imagine Paul with this fuller (less tightly pulled back into a ponytail, i guess) hair but it works so well on him!!!

I have no idea what the light source is supposed to be in this (the bg looks like it's rather smoky, so if it's the sun i'd imagine it would be more yellow / orangey. or maybe it's just cloudy) but it makes the whole thing look absolutely EPIC. maybe this contributes to that "movie poster" feel I was just talkign about
